The works department is one of the key arms of the organization and it has various duties and responsibilities. The public and rate payers cooperation is essential to the effectiveness of the department. Most of our works are part of the Annual Corporate Plan of the year dealing with capital projects and the other part of our work is being dictated by the head of departments and managements and also from the requests and concerns of the public/ratepayers through complaints and advise.

Under the leadership of the Council, we manage all aspect of works and maintenance within the Town Boundary.

The roles and duties of works department is to provide essential maintenance services for the benefit of the rate payers, business house, stakeholders and general public.

We do:

• – General road maintenance such as patching paving and sealing works.
  – Maintain storm water drains.
  – Garden Beautification and trees maintenance.
  – Street lights maintenance.
  – Grass cutting and Street sweeping.
  – And other general maintenance.
